Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, LLP Partner, Christopher Heck, with assistance from Associate Alex Boris, scored a major win in the Second District Court of Appeal in long-standing litigation involving the Douglas Maas Living Trust. After full briefing and oral argument, the Court dismissed the appeal filed by the removed former trustee of that Trust as moot and remanded the case back to the probate division of the Los Angeles Superior Court. This outcome effectively ends a parallel civil litigation filed against a client and her companies, and it is the culmination of a strategy conceived of early in the litigation to turn the tables on the former trustee who filed that civil case.
