Jordan Butler, an attorney at Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, was recently successful in obtaining a Green Card for German professional tennis coach Aleksandar “Sascha” Bajin. Mr. Bajin initially rose to prominence as a hitting partner for Serena Williams between 2008-2014, a period which saw Serena capture 12 Grand Slam titles. Mr. Bajin subsequently made headlines when he was hired away from the Williams’ camp by Victoria Azarenka, who achieved the No. 1 ranking and was widely viewed as Serena’s top rival at the time.

Mr. Bajin continued to demonstrate his extraordinary coaching talents when he helped Naomi Osaka capture the 2018 U.S. Open title, and later ascend to No. 1 in the world rankings on the strength of a second Grand Slam victory at the 2019 Australian Open.

Mr. Bajin was honored with the inaugural award for WTA Coach of the Year in 2018 and has since enjoyed several successful coaching stints with other top players, including taking Karolina Pliskova to the 2021 Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles Final.

With Mr. Butler’s assistance, Mr. Bajin was able to adjust his status from a temporary O-1 non-immigrant visa to a permanent EB-1 Green Card, a first priority visa reserved for those individuals who have demonstrated sustained international acclaim and recognition in route to reaching the very top of their field, such that their permanent presence is considered a benefit to the U.S.

Mr. Bajin previously served as a Special Assistant to the U.S. Olympic Women’s Tennis Team at the 2012 London Olympics where Serena won a pair of Gold Medals.
